Assembly

its really down to personal preference, i usually get the case ready and opened up, then fit all the drives in, then put the power supply in, thenfit everything onto the mobo, like the RAM and cpu, then put the mobo into the case, then connect all the cables/wires up.

the main factor is your case, this will dictate your order, if the back of your case comes out you can attach most things to that before putting in your case.
But otherwise i always go
psu into case
mobo into case
cpu and hsf on mobo
hdd, and cd into case and motherboard
then ram
then gpu
then any other pci card
then connect front panel power button, leds, and usb

i put my motherboard in first,
connect all the connectors for the front of the case (power switch, usb, audio, ect)
put the cpu and heatsink on
drives
power supply
add-on cards

You can really go in any order that you want, but i suggest connecting the case wires before hooking everything up, since they can be a pain to do it when theres stuff in the way.

Yeah, my question was meant to be, "which order do YOU prefer to put the parts in", it's not like I don't know. I usually put drives in first, then powersupply, then I put the mobo in the case, then I connect the front stuff to the mobo, then the GPU and accessoires, then connect drives to mobo, then powersupply connected to drives + mobo + GPU.

When you assemble a PC, in which order do you put the parts in??

Short answer, it doesn't really matter.

But otherwise i always go
psu into case
mobo into case
cpu and hsf on mobo
hdd, and cd into case and motherboard
then ram
then gpu
then any other pci card
then connect front panel power button, leds, and usb

I always put my PSU in last and stick the cpu and HSF on when the mobo is out of case, so that I can do it on a completely flat surface (god I hate those S775's).
