ASUS 750i Junk?

We'll I have all my parts together, and I am looking for a mobo.

The one I am looking at currently is the 750i ASUS, after reading the reviews I was pretty unsure as to buying it. However, the issue is I cannot afford the 780i (which has better reviews). Also the SLI feature on the 750i seems to be pointless as to the PCI E ports are so close together it causes heat issues.

I really would like SLI mobo just so I can some-what future proof my machine. But I would give it up to have a stable, better mobo that would last. My budget is "No More" than $175 *shipped*. I heard the P45 was a disappointment and the x48 is a lil out of my price range (Same with x38).

I am open to all suggestions and opinons. I have a deadline of Monday to make my selection.

Thanks for all of the help.

look at the evga 750i ftw version, i believe that can do dual slot cooled graphics cards, so overheating shouldnt be an issue

We'll I have found another that I am seriously considering. It is a P45 but just good to see a "5" egg rating of more than 50%. And it is still in a reasonable price range. Here are the combo deals I am considering.

1. 750i Asus ( $334.98 - Asus 750i + Q6600)
OR
2. P45 Asus ( $344.98 - ASUS P5Q-E P45 + Q6600)

I am really leaning towards option #2 since people have less horror storys.

Thanks again!
