ASUS A8N SLI DELUXE chipset and RAID failure

What is the failure mode sequence of the chipset fan?

I believe there are two causes, air temperature or wear and control software premature shut down. What generates the screeching sound when the fan fails?

Why does the RAID fail. Is this lack of cooling of the IC?

There are numerous angry customer reviews on the Internet, but I cannot find a technical report on these failures. Do you know where I can find one?

I have had two chipset fan failures and one RAID failure in two years.

I am presently taking my retailer to the Small Claims Court, Birmingham UK, preliminary set for Monday, December 17th, 2007.

I need some intelligent answers, please.

Lol thats a bit extreme, the ASUS A8N SLI DELUXE chipset fans are famous for failing. Then the chipset gets hot and damages the motherboard. Ive made two PCs with A8N sli deluxe motherboards in them and on both the fans and heatsinks needed to be replaced. The first one damaged the motherboard and I replaced it. The 2nd one I failed with in a month and because I was aware of the problem I changed the heatsink and fan before it could cause any damage to the motherboard.

On the 1st one that was damaged there were tell tail signs like RAID not functioning properly and the graphics card crashing while in games. (errrm think the card was a 7800GT).

Hope this helps.

It'll be a hard sell to the court I'm afraid. The retailer has no control over the quality of the parts. Asus will send out the boards in batches and they are responsible for the QC of the boards. The retailer has no knowing of what will happen. These batches are big so the retailer may have had some bad ones without knowing as Asus may send out 4000 or so in that batch.
