asus a8n sli premium HELP!!!!

i just bought new components for my new build which are:

amd athlon 64 X2 3800+
asus a8n sli premium
evga 7600gt
wd 80gig hd(not sata)

the problem i am having from what i can tell is with the motherboard. everytime i start my comp it sits at the asus motherboard screen for like 1 min, with the option of hitting del to go to the settings. if i wait then it brings up all the drive info (like in dos or something) and sits there for like 30 sec, then it finally boots windows. sometimes it also thinks that i am trying to configure a raid configuration and goes to the SIL screen on bootup asking if i want to configure a raid, and i am running just a plain ide HD. please, if anyone can help with info, or tell me what i could try or where else to look, that would be appreciated.

Looks like BIOS is looking for things that aren't there. You should go to BIOS to disable SATA or RAID. (To go to BIOS press delete while booting up. So BIOS=Settings to avoid confusion)

As Omega said, the BIOS is trying to load from RAID and your not running any RAID drives. Go into the BIOS and disable anything you don't ever intend to use. Disable RAID, floppy seek, any SATA ports you don't use etc. That makes the machine boot up faster.
