So i have a pentium D processor not sure whether its a 830 or an 840 right now its at 3.2 mhz and i wanted to try to oclock it to its max and my asus booster can do a max of 30% faster, and i figured that i have a pretty good heatsink fan and my comp runs at a decent temp, i have a cooler master hyper 6+ and anyways enuf with my rambling. So i maxed it out and ran it for a few hrs and did alot of different things with it multi-tasked, downloaded, gamed. watched some tv, recorded a few tv shows, etc.. basic comp stuff. ANYWAYS i oclocked my system and it was running at 4.160 Mhz and my comp only raised by about 8 degrees and my mobo temp rose by 2 degrees... I guess the question i wanted to ask is asus lying? or am i gonna demolish my comp running it like this? from what i understood isn't a Pentium D just 2 P4's? i guess just wondering whether i have a freak processor? or asus is full of ......

Is it the AI NOS Booster asus tool? I dont trust that at all. Try speedfan, or the asus PC Probe, its more accurate.

I doubt that a toasty CPU like that only went up by 8 degress with that amount of load, but you never know...........
