ASUS EAH4650/DI/1GD2 - Why so many models?

I was looking to buy another vid card just to expend my monitor estate, not for gaming.

I came across this mid range card that seemed to have good price/performance ratio for ATI.

I wanted to order it off NewEgg but that can take a few, and I needed this card quickly. It's currently in stock at my local computer shop, but I'm a bit confused that there are so many models for this card.

Can anyone explain why? Different production years? Do some heat more than others? Which is the best?

Thanks!

Each manufacture does different things with heatsinks to get buyers to buy their product.

Just look at the newer gfx cards out. theres like 5+ did manufactures with their own lil trademark to it. Its all user preference on what you like and price.
