It's very rarely that I ever post anything, but hey...I must do it sometimes too right
?
Anyway...I have a small problem with the mini (eee) laptop called Asus 1001PX.As we all know most of the headphones have 2 jack pins.Green one and pink one.Green one produces the output sound and the pink one is used as the input device such as microphone used to talk or record or whatever you use it for.The problem is the following. This laptop does NOT have 2 jack entrances.First jack entrance for the HEADPHONES and the second jack entrance for let's say MICROPHONE.Instead it has only one jack entrance (in/out jack) which shows -> HEADPHONES / MICROPHONE as on the following picture:
Sorry for the small picture, but that is the best one I could find on the internet.
And now...if for example I plug in the green headphone pin jack (output) into that jack on the laptop, the Realtek HD audio manager (which is the part of the audio drivers) pop ups and asks me "WHICH DEVICE DID YOU PLUG IN?".I will logically choose headphone and click the OK button to apply the changes. That option DOES work and I CAN then hear the sound on my headphones. However if I plug in the pink headphone pin jack (input) into that jack on the laptop, the Realtek HD audio manager (which is the part of the audio drivers) pop ups and asks me "WHICH DEVICE DID YOU PLUG IN?".If I then choose "Mic In" and click the OK button to apply the changes,I get the balloon message at the right bottom corner which says:"Warning. This device type is not supported!"So in short that means that I cannot use the microphone on my headphones. But ok...I have no problem with that. This laptop DOES have the built-in microphone which works great, but here is the REAL problem:
When I am recording a gameplay of some computer game which I am playing, what I want to do is to record THE GAME SOUND and also record MY VOICE through the microphone AT THE SAME TIME.However it seems that when I am using programs like Fraps or any other programs for game recording,I cannot record both type of the sounds at the SAME TIME.I can record either the GAME SOUND only or either MY VOICE through the microphone only!I CANNOT record both type of the sounds in the same time. However when I tryed to record both type of the sounds on my other laptop which DOES have 2 jacks one for the headphones (output) and the other one for the microphone (input),both type of the sounds were recorded perfectly. But of course it worked because that laptop had 2 jacks.Green (output) and pink (input). But the problem is that my Asus 1001PX has ONLY one jack and it is In-Out jack (headphones/microphone).
So now...my question is...Is there a way to record both type of the sounds in the same time for the gameplay on Asus 1001PX laptop?
Thanks in advance!
