ASUS EEE 1005PE 2GB ram issue, only detecting 1GB via Windows System info

Hi, I ordered the following ram for my dads Netbook:

Crucial 2GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 800
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148162

After installing the ram, I booted the computer and went into "System" to see that it was still written 1GB. I shut down the Netbook again, removed the battery and repeated, and still, 1GB.

I installed PC Wizard 2010 and it says 2GB in the memory information, but the Windows information only displays 1GB.

Does anybody have an idea what's going on here?
Thanks!

I'm thinking that most of the memory is being allocated to the video card, but 1GB seems a little extreme for an EEE. Check in the BIOS if there are memory options you can change.

If it was defective you may still be able to boot but you would get other signs of a problem like blues screens.

On the EEE you just have to enter the BIOS after a RAM upgrade for the machine to recognize it. Just hit F2 right after you power it on to enter the BIOS, where it should show that you have 2GB, then when you boot into Windows it should start showing 2GB as well.

I did press F2 but I had a ton of options and not "Enter bios", that's where I got confused also.
