Asus Eee PC X101-EU17-BK Questions

I am looking at getting a netbook and came across the Eee PC.

I see that it has 1GB ram which I would upgrade to 2GB, which is max for this unit, also I see that this unit has a 8GB Solid State Drive.

I don't know much about Solid State Drives. I'm assuming this is the hard drive, but what can I do about updating this to 200GB or more? Or is there a normal HDD that I'm missing for these units.

Also, does anyone know what operating system this runs?

Here's a link to the Eee PC that I'm looking at:

Bump/more of an update.

I'm looking for a Netbook that runs on an Intel processor, with 1GB ram that can be upgraded to 2GB or more, also, I would like something with a decent sized hard drive that can be updated easily, so HDD would be best.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I see the HP Mini on there for about $230, I'm really wanting to try an ASUS, I see some on Newegg but they don't have them in stock.

Yes it should be fine, but remember these little things are small. so it is difficult to see the whole photo, and the resolution is limited to 1024x600 if I not wrong. Are you looking for something portable that is why you want these, there are some cheap laptop that just little over $300.
Cheers.

Thanks, it'd be moreso something to boot real quick to pull pictures off of my memory card, upload them to facebook or something.

I have my EliteBook so that serves as my do-it-all laptop.

I think it would be nice to have something a little smaller and less bulky also

I'm thinking I should up my price range to about $300.

I found this one at Best Buy (I have gift cards to Best Buy), and am thinking it would be a little quicker with the dual core, and I can still upgrade the ram to 2GB.

or this one, not sure which one would be better

The second one has bigger screen, but they are used not new, Maybe Asus don't build them anymore. The first one has dual core should run faste. (please correct me if I am wrong as I don't really know the Amd c-50 Processors.)
Cheers.

I just found that the Amazon page has more information to base off of, I can find them both new hopefully Best Buy.

also is there a difference in the ram?

sorry for all the posts I'm on my tablet but I just looked at both of those, I'm having a hard time finding one through best buy because that's where I have my gift card and I'd like to stick to Asus

Yes those processors are dual core with 4 threads. you can get the detail information here.

The second asus you post give you a better view on documents and web brows. it is bigger and a little slower, I would get that one instead the first one. they both come with one gb ram and expendable to 2gb.
Cheers

thank man, sorry I was probably a pain in the @$$ with all my questions lol I'm still looking around and have 6 months interest free on ebay so I may grab one off there and get some bose headphones from BestBuy instead!

Just an update, I bought this today.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+...inum/1647223.p?id=1218276039653&skuId=1647223

I got it on ebay, used but only for a month, it looks brand new, i got it for $225 shipped, with $10 off, as long as I pay within the next 6 months.

Also, the seller has already upgraded to 2GB ram. I know the processor isn't Dual Core, but it's faster than the 450 by a little bit and allows DDR3.

One question, I want to get rid of the crappy W7 starter, can I just use normal 32bit W7 Professional or is there a special one for netbooks?

Also, do you guys think that was a good buy?
