Asus K55VJ battery emptying itself

Hello,

I'm wondering if it's normal that my GF's laptop battery just lost 20% while being shut down... Actually it just completely emptied itself. The laptop is running Win8 if this is helping although I think this is just a bad battery... This has happened twice since she got the laptop and last time she had 10% left.
The laptop is brand new by the way.

Any idea?

Definately sounds like a bad battery, get it replaced. Or its possible an issue with the laptop is draining the battery even when off, get it checked out.
