ASUS M3N78-EM will an AM3 chip work on it?

title says it all! I remember seeing on the Asus website saying it will support AM3 Chips but for some reason I fear I wont get the full capability out of an AM3 chip or will fry the shit out of my mobo.

I am either thinking of getting the 955 or 940

The 945 or 955 AM3 is not listed on the CPU support list. The AM2+ 940 is.

With a AM2+ board you just lose DDR3 support.

hmm alright... Well I think Ill get the 940 then funny cause it can support am3 chips but at a price.
