Asus Mobo..which is better?

Hey guys, which mobo do you think is better for gaming and other multimedia?

Asus P5WD2-P Intel 955 Socket 775 ATX Motherboard

I'm getting a Intel Pentium D 930 3.0GHz processor with it...or I might get 3.2GHz instead.

What do you guys think?

Or if you know any other good gaming mobos/processors, just tell me. I up for opinions!
 
Depends on what graphics card you are getting, if your gonna use the crossfire mobo to its full potential then i would get that. If your not going for DUAL graphics or you don`t need 2x PCI-E slots for any reason then i would have a look at some other/cheeper mobos.
 
Say I get 2 ATI x800xl 256mb/512mb video cards or an ATI x1900xtx.

What is better 2 ATI x800s crossfire or the new ATI x1900xtx?

What is better between them?

Also what is better between ATI x800 or ATI x850?
 
The P5WD2-E is the better board. Its got a newer chipset which suports crossfire and better memory performance. With that processor and this board you should be able to overclock like crazy :D

I would get a single X1900XT. The first generation crossfire on those cards is very buggy and limited. It would probably be outperformed by the X1900XT anway, especialy in shader heavy games.

AMD would be better for gaming, in case you didnt know.
 
Oh ok...Whats a good AMD processor? I used to like AMD a lot but they just feel behind for me compared to the P4. Whats a new AMD thats good for gaming now thats affordable :)
 
For around the same price as the P D 930 the Athlon 64 X2 3800+ is AMDs cheapest dual core CPU, but still packs alot of punch. It sounds like your an ATI fan, so if you can wait a bit, ASUS is going to release the A8R32-MVP soon. Anandtech has an article on it but it keeps on pulling it out for some reason, but you can download the zip file of it from here if your interested.

2. CPU 101
3. FYI, you definition of "affordable" might not be the same as everyone elses's

There's two that are out now, the A8N32SLI-DLX and the A8R-MVP (the successor to the A8R-MVP hasnt hit the streets yet)
