Hello All,
I would like to ask you based on your experience about :
Motherboard: ASUS A7V133-C ACPI BIOS Rev. 1007
Processor: AMD Athlon XP 1700+

From the BIOS, O can see that the CPU speed is 1100 MHz while this processor can work up to 1700 MHz. How can I increase the speed?

The current configuration:
Frequency Multiplier is disabled but if it is enabled then I can see range of value between 5.5X ... up to 11.5X

Could you please guide me?
Thanks

I havn't checked out that mobo. But, generaly you want to increase your FSB or multi to get to your desired clock speed. Can you enable your multi? If so then try it, remember to watch temps when overclocking.

A XP 1700 doesnt have a unlocked multiplier, you have to use the FSB. But with that board, it has a VIA chipset and I doubt that the PCI bus is locked. When you raise the FSB the PCI bus increases too. So your not going to get to far without it getting unstable.

1700+ doesn't mean it'll operate at 1700mhz, it means that at 1.1ghz it's comparable to a 1.7ghz socket 478 pentium 4.
