Between the Asus and Sony Viaos, for battery life and quality as a student and abit of entertainment wise, which one would you recommend?? Which brand is the best one to go with really and why??

ASUS is about as reliable as it comes. Quality machines at a great price. Sony also makes quality machines, but you pay a lot more for the Sony brand, and don't get much more than a bit nicer looking product. I would go with ASUS, because you get a lot more for your money.
