Hello all. As the question above, Asus P35(P5K) vs Gigabyte P35(DS3R), which is better? Although both have the same class of intel chipsets, can I say that the Asus P35(P5K) is better than the Gigabyte P35(DS3R) since it supports crossfire technology feature as compared to the latter which can only support a single pcie gpu?

As for the second question, P35 vs P65 motherboard, which chipset is better or later? Can I say that its the P35 since I have heard as well as read from numerous sources recommending the P35 chipsets here and there? But one thing that I don't understand is that why is my country retailers mainly distributes the P965 rather than the P35 motherboard? Are they trying to clear stocks or fool customers that its the latest or newest? Plus on the other hand, they are selling the P965 motherboard prices quite similar or in fact even more than the P35 chipsets. Is this correct? Should I wait for they to clear off all P965 or what should I do?

The P5K is a great motherboard. I have one and I must say it's one of the best motherboards out there, and is on par with the 680i series.

When it comes to the P35 vs 965, the P35 is by far superior, especially when it comes to features and upgradability.

Any idea why is quite a large number of fans are screaming over the gigabyte p35 ds3r motherboard? The p5k seems rather quiet rather while being a better performer.
At the same time, your rig is p5k wifi deluxe. I supposed that is not the standard p5k edition? I am only interested in the p5k(standalone edition).

I just got a P5K Deluxe and i love it! Havent tried overclocking yet but from what i hear its a really good overclocker.

I've said it before and I will say it again, Gigabyte boards have better tech support and are very solid, while Asus boards are to picky about the ram they will use and their website really blows as far as tracking down drivers and such.

Yeah, the P35-DS3R has to be the best OC'er yet, I love mine, it's rock solid, durable, and well designed...
My guess would be that because the Gigabyte 965 was a terrific overclocking board, so people assumed this would be great as well - and it was, but so are alot of the other P35-based boards.

I'm going with giga mine one runs very well with my rig. never have asus board before so i'm not going to give comments about them. But I had heard alot of the problem with the p5k series from another forums.
