ASUS P5E-VM (HDMI now working)

Ive connected up the hdmi but can only seem to get a signal through vga.
Ive changed the tv channel to hdmi but still nothing.
Do i need to change the motherboard output settings somehow?

-check your bios
-install latest drivers
-try and enable it through the driver software
