ASUS P5K Deluxe installation (IDE OS)

I have my OS on an IDE hard drive, and have recently purchased an ASUS P5K Deluxe motherboard. When I hooked everything together, it didn't work because it was unable to find the boot device. I'm fairly sure that is because an IDE driver must be installed. On my last motherboard, one IDE plug worked, but the other two required a driver to be installed, which I was able to do through my OS after it was installed. So, I guess my question is, how do I install the IDE drivers without running my IDE OS disk?

By the way... Merry Christmas! (to anyone that celebrates it... happy holidays to everyone else!)

Usually you need to reformat and reinstall Windows when you replace your motherboard, the drivers are stored on the HD, not on the motherboard so that shouldn't be the issue.

But I could, hypothetically, after installing windows on a SATA drive, install the drivers and access the files on my IDE drive?

If you load Windows on a new SATA hard drive and just access the files on the IDE drive, then yes that will work. There shouldn't be any drivers needed though if your using Windows XP/Vista.
