Asus P5K-E WIFI ram locations

Hi Guys,

I have been putting off finding the title out for about 4 months now.

I had 4 sticks of Ram, one stick has died and keeps blue screening my computer every time Windows goes to load, when I have 3 sticks in I bluescreen every 5 - 10 min. I am guessing this is because I don't have the ram in the correct slots.

I kind of need to know which slot to try as I can then I can also diagnose which of the two I sticks of ram is faulty.

Anyone know which slots I should have the ram in if I am using 3 sticks?

BTW at the moment I am running 2gb of ram in slots 2 and 4 without any issues.

Thanks,
Jon

You should be able to use any of the slots, if not one it faulty. Since you know 2 and 4 are working, why not just rotate 1 stick through slot 2 and run tests on them individually to find the bad RAM? If all the RAM passes the tests then you know you likely have a faulty slot and can start testing them the same way (take a stick and move it slot to slot until it fails a test).

I was doing that but I ran out of time :P

I have a feeling I have two bad sticks of ram then :(

One bluescreens my computer 100% of the time, the other after 10min.

Then again, I may have one back stick and 1 faulty slot on the Mobo, being lazy is such a chore. Thanks anyway Cromwell.

On the bright side, didn't OCZ offer lifetime warranty on a lot of their ram?
