Asus P5N-E SLI Problems/Gateway LX6810-01 PC Desktop problems

:mad:Hey I am new here so if I posted this in the wrong section please let me know. But I have a Mozart Media LAB Desk top with a Asus motherboard that has 8gb of ram and a 2.3 ghz processor with a Nvedia video card, that has HDMI support, that will NOT for the life of me connect to the moniter. I know it all works but I cannot figure out why it wont connect. Everything used to be in a Gateway LX6810-01 PC Desktop that when I turn on it beeps once and then turns off, so I switched out everything to the Media LAB. I would also like to know why the Gateway wont stay turned on now. I shut it off and when I tried to turn it back on it just beeped at me and shut off. So my questions are 1, why wont the asus connect to the monitor, and 2 why my gateway wont stay turned on. Thanks for the help in advanced ^ ^
 
I nkow this motherboard does not like having the RAM slots full. so try taking 2 sticks out (of the black slots)
 
Well I tried that and it failed :( I tried with just one ram stick, tried with 2 and 3, just yellow, tried with just black, tried mixing the two with 2 ramsticks, just about every combo possible. And none of it worked :(
 
It sounds like your motherboard is not at fault. You likely have a failing power supply unit. Replace the power supply and your system will likely work correctly again.
 
I figured as much ^ ^ I will get that replaced and hopefully it will work. Umm what would be a good yet cheap power supply? O.o something sufficient?

something like that will do but only from a reputable brand. this means OCZ, Corsair, Thermaltake, XFX, BFG, and so on.

Brands to avoid: Rosewill, Kingwin, A Power, and anything else that sounds cheap.

I'd avoid OCZ if you can. They are alright, but "mid-high" rather than just "high" like the other brands you put. I know for a fact, I wouldn't have one in my system if I could avoid it, I would much rather have Corsair, PC P&P, BFG, Silverstone etc.

Also, as to having 4 slots populated, the board doesn't mind it at all, just have to find the ight settings, which usually means slight bump on the NB and slight voltage raise on the DIMMs. That is why I would recomend OCZ memory, or another brand with a similar warranty system to them where they let you go up to 5% over the recomended voltage and have it still in warranty. It may only mean an extra .1V, but that is a hell of alot of difference and could be the difference between your system booting and being stable and not

From what I heard OCZ was making poor quality DDR3 RAM. Have they worked all the problems out of their DDR3 memory?
 
Ok so I found out it is my videocard that was the problem on the asus, since it is SLI. The gateway was a mobo problem, even with a new powersupply from thermaltake. I am not computer savy enough to figure out SLI tho so I am selling this mobo and moving pack to my P4 3.0GHZ untill I can afford to start my project all over again, thank you for the help and sorry I haven't been on in a while. Got kinda busy
