asus router troubles

i have a asus rt-ac66 router it worked great for maybe 8 months then all of the sudden the wireless quit working
i have a dlink working now but was wondering if anyone could tell me what went wrong or if this has happened to anyone else
these are a bit pricey so i expected it to last a long time

Anything can happen at any time. It's an electronic device. Should still be under warranty if its only 8 months old. Contact Asus for an rma.
 
asus router troubles part 2

i have tried several time to connect the router to a switch another router and the cable modem itself and no matter what i do the installation disk says it cannot connect to the router
could i be doing something wrong or has it just d.o.a.
