ASUS screen broken

hi,
i have had my ASUS x58l laptop for around 3 years now. the problem is that my screen is starting to break. the problem with is that i keep getting lines going down the screen, but when i move the screen into a certain position its fine.

what i am worried about is that this happened before and i had the screen replaced by ASUS. the problem is that i broke the replacement screen and replaced it with one from a spares laptop i had. my warrenty has ran out by now, but is there anyway i can have this repaired for free because it seems to a problem with how ASUS has made the screen?
 
Open it up make sure the cable is in good shape and connections are good. The fact that positioning the tilt of screen creates/fixes means could just be lose/insulation worn?
 
Can you turn it on when apart and jiggle the cord? Adjusting fixing really leads me to lose/bad connection. It might not be visable though.

thanks, il try that now. im pretty sure its to do with the connection because it doesnt do anything if i dont move the screen.
