Asus - Touting Japan made capacitors

I've seen claims put out by Asus that Japan made capacitors are among the highest quality when compared with others coming from that part of the globe (some also say certain flats may be "military grade")

How can anyone know if there is any real truth to this claim or it is hype?

Basically in short. The Japanese had a lot higher standards and quality then caps made else where. As in China/Taiwan. So in short they had a higher failure rate.

I think Gigabyte quality has skyrocketed since I looked at them 4 to 5 years ago.

Starting to favor Asus myself.

Gigabyte, Asus. Msi, even Asrock are all good. I prefer Gigabyte or Asus though, both boards Ive had work great with no problems. Actual quality depends on the price of the board you buy

According to Microcenter, at least when I was shopping brands, salespersons suggested staying away from msi due to returns.

Depends on what kind of build your doing. High end build, I wouldn't save a few bucks using a MSI or ASRock. If your doing a low/mid end build and what to save a few bucks with MSI or ASRock. Just pick you a board with good caps/mosfets and chokes, look up a few reviews and make a choice.
