AT&T USBConnect Force 4G DataConnect 5GB with Wi-Fi

Hi,

I need some help. I have a AT&T USBConnect Force 4G DataConnect 5GB data card. The connection using the card is very slow. I want to boost the connection speed. Can someone please tell me if DLink DWA-140 RANGEBOOSTER N USB ADAPTER is the right item I need to accomplish this task? Or do I need some type of router?
 
If you are using a wifi dongle from your cellular provider, there is no way to increase the speed. The speed is determined by your signal strength and if you are in 3g or 4g area.
