ATA Device a215-s4697

Firstable please apologize my poor English.

Well I found that my son laptop Toshiba A215-S4697, running W7 Ultimate, the DVD rom was not working. I checkout MY COMPUTER folder, and it was not shown there. I thought, it was the OS corrupted, so I decide to format.

When I try to boot from DVD, the DVD was not shown on BIOS. Finally I made the installation with an external DVD rom.

Unfortunately still the DVD rom doesn’t appear on BIOS.

I found that ATA device driver it's missing, but after many hours of research, driver was not found.

Any advice for what DVD rom is missing on BIOS? (Pls see attachment)

If you are saying the bios doesn't recognize the cdrom drive then the drive is bad. But if the bios detects and windows doesn't then there is a fix for it.

Thanks you very much for your reply, I forgot to say I tried another dvd rom. Did you have another recommendation?
