ATA, SATA and SATA II

Hello,
So if i buy motherboard that supports only SATA, i can't use ATA or SATA II disks? And is IDE the same as ATA?

You can use Sata and Sata II on the same port (one is just 1.5gb transfer versus 3.0 gb) I believe. IDE uses parallel technology rather than serial, so no IDE is a totally different technology.

Yes you can, on that motherboard you can have:
1x floppy= Self Explanitory
1x IDE= IDE is the same as ATA
6 x SATA 3Gb/s = 6x SATA II which supports both sata and sata II discs.

Well, ATA/ATAPI covers both. PATA/Parallel ATA is commonly E/IDE and SATA is Serial ATA

and question: can you plug all computer case on/off switches, usb connectors on case, restart buttons to all motherboards or are there any differences?

ATA100/ATA133 refers to PATA/IDE, so yes, you can use two "ATA" devices on your motherboard since you can have two devices per IDE cable.

You should be able to use any case with any motherboard, some cases have all the LED lights, reset switch, power switch, etc. separate while others have them all together, so some may be easier to work with then others.
