i am intersted in buying the acer ferrari and it comes with a athlon 3000+ and i wanted to know if it can be upped to a athlon fx53

The FX53 comes in both Socket 939 and 940, whereas the Athlon 64 3000+ is a Socket 754. You would need a compatible motherboard to be able to upgrade.

well where would i start for a custom built labtop...i haven't really seen any...

the athlon 64 3000+....do you really need anything more then that....the ratings seems very high on it...i use the computer for just about everything....no hardcore gaming really

whereas the Athlon 64 3000+ is a Socket 754
