how does the the athlon 64 X2 4200+ compare to the Athlon 64 3700+. Also in comparison how fast is a 64 X2 4200+ to a pentium 4. thanks

I use a 4200, Im on one right now.

It overclocks very easily, and i bet at stock its comparable to any p43.0-3.2.

it does mkae up for the fact of having a 512kb cache, cause you have two processors. It's basically like having (2) 3500+'s

depends. id say go dual core, cuz its o/cable and performs well. sometimes quake 4 even uses 100% of my processor, meaning it actually utilizes both cores.
again, depends on whats youre doing.

Generally, the X2 4200+ is MUCH better than the 3700+. The 3700 will have a slight advantage on single threaded games and apps,
And by slight we mean nonexistent. Sure the 3700 has an extra 512K per its single core but the X2 has the extra core to deal with background tasks
