Athlon II x2 240 to x4 640 smooth upgrade?

I've been using an Athlon II X2 240 for a while and want a more power. Would the X4 640 basically be a drop-in upgrade? I think the power supply can handle an extra 30 watts. Thanks in advance :D
 
Both have the same socket (AM3) so it will fit but it depends on your other system specs. Please post your specs.
