Athlon or Sempron?

I'm planning on building a small form factor pc for stroring and playing all my music. I'll be using a shuttle barebones system that supports 754 processors. Would a Sempron be able to cope with the playing of large audio files, or should I opt for an Athlon 64? Also, would 1gb of ram be overkill?

yes the sempron will handle all your needs and more, media playing is not cpu intensive. As for the 1gb, again you dont need that much, 512 will be ample. This is after all just a media server with some speakers, i assume you'll be interfacing with it remotely from another machine.
