ATI 1900XT vrs. ATI 1900XTX

Yes there is a difference, however the only difference are the speeds of the Core and Memory.

The x1900XTX's core is only 25Mhz faster than the x1900XT, and the memory is only 50Mhz faster (100Mhz DDR).

If your wondering which one to buy, I would recommed the x1900XT, since it's extremely easy to overclock to x1900XTX speeds and beyond. The only time I would recommend getting an x1900XTX is if the price difference is under $20, otherwise it's really not worth it.

Geforce 5950 Vrs. 1900XT?

Please dont let this be a flame war, I am mearly asking what currently is better in perfomnce.

Well the thing is that 7950GX2 owns X1900XT or XTX.. It´s the best card out there..

Being a dual card it would be quite embarrasing if they wasnt performing better dont you think? But have a look at the price/performance ratio, which is whats important to most people.

The X19XT at $400 is a hard deal to beat, on pair or better than the single 79GTX. ATi also support some feuteres that nVidia dont. Such as better FSAA, the ability to run FSAA and HDR simultaneously, better video capabilities etc. Something one would want if putting that kind of money on a card. So it isnt as simple as you make it out to be.

Yes that´s true.. But for example 7300GT 256 GDDR3 version is the best card in the mid-range segment (beats 6800XT and costs 110$+-) but we aren´t talking about that now eh? Also 7900GT is far better perfomer than X1900GT.. But that´s all offtopic.

He just want´s to know is 7950GX2 better than X1900XT.. Answer = It is.
So what if you´ll pay 150$ more for like 2x performance and you will be able to run all games in like insane resolutions all eye candy on with 2+ monitors.. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814127212

If you really think it will downright double the performance your quite tricked by marketing. ;)

Besides, the premium price tag still wont get you the features I've mentioned.

Very true. When I was looking at recent benchmarks of the 7900GT/X, and 7950GX2, in most of the tests I would say the 7950 performed about 25-35% better in most games. Some games were higher than 35%, and some were only around 10% better. It all depends on the game/test you run. Also, the 7950 has lower clocks than a standard 7900GTX, which is partly the reason it doesnt perform as well as you would think, and in some games that dont support SLI, the 7950 will run similar to a 7900GT.

And a big plus with ATI (as you pointed out earlier), is the use of Full Screen Anti Aliasing (FSAA), and HDR. However when running both, performance is crippled.

at the moment, X1800s are a complete steal.

sure they arn't as flashy as the top end cards, but i got a 512mb X1800XT for £195 del.

they will play any game a 1280 x 1024 at full settingas look so nice...

althoug need an aftermarket HSF>

Correct.

The 7950 is the better performing card.

Long story short.

The X19 is a solid performer, and when nVidias 78GTX couldnt compete they launched the 79GTX, and when that didnt turn out the X19 killer they had hoped they smacked two of them together and now we have the 7950. :)

At that segment, the 79GT is somewhat more attractive though IMO, due to the pricing.

And here we see again at least one ati fanboy :) I am not corrupted by the marketing at all :D It´s not like that 7950GX2 has some kind of premium price tag? I think it's cheap if you look what kind of performance it gives to you.. And imagine when it´s OC'ed.. or when you have 2x7950GX2!

What are you talking about? Similar to 7900GT?
Listen carefully: Even if it would be like one 7900GT vs 2x7900GT @ 400/1200MHz each.. The 2x7900GT outperforms that one 7900GT.. And we are talking about downclocked 2x7900GTX's.. core is 70MHz downclocked and mems are 50MHz downclocked.. You are welcome to think a little man =)
Look the truth right into its eyes..

Nonono, you are the fanboy. Look at your post, then look at Omega's post. See a difference? His is filled with real stats, yours is imaginary. ;)

Here are some reputable benchmarks from AnandTech. You can see that the 7950GX2 actually isnt all you think it is:

Well I can be a fanboy of 7950GX2 in this case :) And I see that 7950GX2 is the best card of that test.

Besides I haven't seen any tests where 7900GT would be as good as 7950GX2 as OMEGA pointed....And if you can't understand what is my point wth 7950GX2 then let it be. But once more xtreme high resolutions, still great performance, one PCI-E used 550$ price tag.. 2x7900GTX is more like 800$.. plus if you OC each core amd mem squad of 7950GX2 then you´ll have pretty unbeatable card.. And imagine that Quad thing where you´ll have 2x7950GX2 and the price will be only 300$ higher than with 2x7900GTX but you´ll have like 4x7900GTX (downclocked).. Performance will be much higher?

I also think that 7950GX2 is much more furute proof because people are getting bigger and bigger monitors and using higher and higher resolutions..

Look the truth right into its eyes..

For some reason, When a person in an arguement starts calling a person that is one year younger (or less) a little man, I tend to shift opinions away. Even though I was always sided with the X1900XT. Performance much higher when overclocked? hmmm. You cannot have the comparison stated with real facts and still try to argue with those facts
