I'm going to buy an ATI 3870 GDDR4 graphics card, but i'm not sure if my pc (pci) is compatible with it, so I thought i'd find some help here.

My power supply is 400W and the label says it's an X-gear.

Thanks.

Hey, probably not, unless you have a Pci-Express slot. What is the model number of your motherboard. Or model number of your desktop.

What computer do you have?

Brand and model number please.

Hope this'll help

No, that don't help at all. We either need the make and model of computer you have like HP, Dell, Compaq. Or what motherboard you have. Open the side of the case and look for a model number around the pci slots.

According to the specs for that motherboard, you have an open PCI-express slot for a separate video card. The 3870 requires a 6pin power supply connection, which i'm not sure if yours has the required connector, we would need the exact model number of the PS. You may need an adapter or you may need to buy a better PSU, 400 watts may be a little low anyway for your system.
