hey just need some help with choosing a graphics card.

my friend has a cousin or something that works at ati and said he could get me card for cheap. ive been looking at the 5870, its compatible with most of my system, im just concerned about my power supply. i have a corsair HX 850w, its only good for SLI and not crossfire. but if i can get a really good single card im not going to worry about dual gpu's. ive looked at the corsair site and it has a psu finder app that can sugest a psu depending on your system. and my 850w doesnt come up. but the HX 650w does. so can i get the 5870 or not?

thnx in advance. i almost have my computer finished just waiting on a couple more paychecks...lol.

If your PSU can do Sli it can do CF. just make sure you have enough pci-e connectors. 850w is plenty of power.

thats the TX850W not the HX series lol. and the corsair website says nothing about crosfire they only have the SLI symbol thing. theres nothing that even mentions crossfire. :(

It just means a certain type and number of connectors, you can view on newegg how many connectors and the type on the graphics card page, and than you can view the type and number of connectors on your PSU on the manufacturer website.

The 5870 sre badass cards, they almost perform at 4870 x2 levels!

i know how many conectors are on the PSU i already have it.
yes the card is very badass, people have posted very high scores using this card.
+ it has directX 11.
