Ati 9600xt

I just bought an ATI 9600XT 256MB video card, here is the specs:

256MB DDR
500Mhz Core
600Mhz Memory
128Bit
OpenGL 2.0

It costed me $109, please vote in the poll if you think this i made a good decision.

And i could have gone with the 6200, but it wasnt the GT so the core and memory were slower, and it costs a little more.

i was probably thinking of the 6600gt, and thats much more expensive.

Yes $109 is a good price, hovewer maybe you can up the budget a tad and try and find a 9800Pro for around ~$130. Some of them have dropped to that price, at least from what i've seen over here. It would totally smoke that 9600XT you've mentioned.

well, the 9800pro is actually slower in terms of core speed and memory speed, and besides, i already bought it. just wanted to know what people thought.

MHz speed don't automatically make the card faster. just like AMD and Intel. The 9800PRO has more pipelines i believe, and a totally different type core and mem. the 9800PRO would most likely be better. But got $109 the 9600XT isn't a bad card, i think my GF is getting one.
