ATI 9800Pro Multimedia install problem

I have been to the ATI website and downloaded the latest drivers for this device. After uninstalling previous setups did a new install and after rebooting get the same msg:
ATI multimedia not installed. The display devices all work, but not the multimedia such as TV. I had used this program without a hitch for the past year....now...nada. I am using WinXP Pro on one hard drive and Vista on another.I cannot use the multimedia on either platform.
Tks in Advance.. I had posted this last month but received no response. ATI has poor one on one com!!!!

I've heard of the problematic ATI drivers but never had to deal with them so i don't know what you should try. However i ran across these,

ATi has had a lot of driver problems lately. Since the 9800 is so old, there should be some old drivers archived somewhere.
