ATI HD 3650 dual screening

Hi I'm new to this forum.

Basically I got a ATI HD 3650 graphics card on a Dell system, Intel dual core 3.0ghz processors, 2gb ram. Been using my 19" LCD screen for a while but recently bought a 32" LG HDTV tv. Bought a standard RGB cable and that works well with the tv.

Bought a HDMI-HDMI cable and tried dual-screening by connecting both my 19" LCD and the 32" LG tv. ATI Catalyst Control Center (newly updated on 15th Oct) recognises both monitors connected and supports dual screen but nothing shows up on the LG tv. Tried all 3 HDMI ports with no effect. Computer recognises when tv is plugged in to the graphics card so it doesn't seem like a connection issue.

I'm guessing its just a silly configuration issue that's stopping me from dual-screening but can't figure out what. Any help?

I had this problem too, but I was using NVidia Control Panel. I solved it, so hopefully it's the same solution. NCP recognizes the TV but doesn't connect to it unless the TV is powered on and on the correct input when the computer boots. If you do this, the computer should start booting with the TV as the main, and then go back to the monitor. You can then do dual monitors. The only problem is that I did this with a 22" TV and a 17" monitor (one in 1680x1050 and the other in 1440x900). I had to set the TV as my main monitor in order to prevent the desktop from "shrinking" due to the difference in resolutions. Hope this helps.
