ATI Radeon 9600 Atlantis 256 DDR

ATI Radeon 9600 Atlantis 256 DDR - How would you rate this card? Can it handle high end games? For instance will it be able to power AgeIII (later this year) and DoomIII + COD online?
 
nah, id go with the 9800 pro, they're so cheap if your up there in the high end 9 series ATI cards anyhow.......


(not that i would go with ATI if i were buying a card, but deff 9800 pro)
 
Radeon 9800 Pro's are roughly in the $170+ range (from what I saw from www.pricewatch.com, which usually has the best prices). And the Radeon 9600 256mb DDR (Atlantis) was $81+ (also from www.pricewatch.com). But I do recommend getting a better card if you want it to play newer games to come. A Nvidia 6600 is a nice choice for $135+ (when I searched for "geforce 6600 agp" in www.pricewatch.com).

How much you looking to spend. The lowest card I would buy is a 9600pro which cost around $99. If you have a higher budget like close to $200 I would get a 6600GT.

to answer your question I would recommend getting something a little better then a plain 9600 for the newer games if you on a tight budget you should still spend a little more to get the 9600pro.

Finally it not worth getting 256mb video ram unless you getting a radeon x800 or a geforce 6800 class card.
