ATI Radeon 9800 damaged?

Hello everybody,

My name is Rick and I have problems with my ATI Radeon 9800 128MB.
Since this week, there are 4 big vertical stripes of pixels on my screen.

First I was thinking that my TFT-monitor was damaged, but I had connect another monitor on my video-card and there were the same stripes on my screen.

The first day the stripes were gone for a while, but yesterday they were back.

I saw that if I select a text from MS Word or Outlook that`s under the stripes, the text comes to the front over the stripes...

Is there anyone who has or had this problems, or does anyone knows what`s wrong with my drivers or video-card?

I hope there is someone who could help me...(I have Win XP SP2)

I'd suspect this is the card overheating (maybe the heatsink isn't fully attached or was damaged while shipping or someething) but it's hard to say, can you get a picture of what it looks like?

This is a small part of the screen, because the whole screen was to big to upload...

But the vertical stripes you see, are displayed on my whole monitor...

It certainly looks like artifacting, you aren't overclocking the video card are you?

Overclocking?

I have the videocard two years now...
I`m using my computer 3-5 hours a day...
