should i buy a ati radeon 9800 pro 128 mb for 75 dollars,

i am looking to play battlefield 2 on high, and i have a geforce fx 5200 right now. my processors are a pentium d 3gz with 2x512mb ddr2 533mhz

You could, I don't know if it would let you run BF2 on high (it might).

also does anyone know how much power supply i would need to do a pentium d 805 overclocked to 3ghz, dual channel 512mb ddr2 533mhz and a decent video card probaly like a x800 or something like that, thanks its cause there is a 480W power supply for 40 bucks a guy is selling on a classified site

Oh, Canada. (heh, I'm so lame ) That makes finding aninexpensive newer card a little harder, the 9800 may be the way to go then. edit: This x700 is pretty cheap, but it is a discontiuned line. http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=16807&vpn=SP-X700-256-A&manufacture=SAPPHIRE

I'd check the brand of that PSU before you buy it. What do you have now? Also, how much are you willing to spend on the video card and PSU?

under$40 dollars just doesnt work for computers. DEFINETELY not if thats in canadian dollars

the 9800 will easily run BF2 on high, i did it with a 9600XT with 768ram and an AMDXP2700+ processor... it only slowed during extreme battles, but with your extra processor speed and slightly better card it should be ok.
