ATI Radeon HD 3200???

oh and it has direct x 10.1. i only have windows xp home edition sp3. will it work? look at my sig for more info.
 
A 4650 isn't as strong as a 9600gt, not at all. We were just comparing the 4670 to the 9600gt, and the 9600gt is still slightly better than a 4670 (which is stronger than a 4650).

I am aware that initially you must put up more, I am also aware of the performance difference though.

Finding an extra $20 is 1 more chore, and he get's back $10 of it afterwards.

And $10 extra is worth an extra 10% performance I'd say. He too now knows about the price differences, performance differences, how much he would gain/lose by paying extra and can make up his own mind. It is preference I suppose and feasibility
 
i didnt like the 9600 gt biostar because the ports are different than my ports. besides, ill just get a hdmi cable. the biostar didnt have a hdmi port.
 
9800gt's don't have any HDMI ports either. They are all pretty much 2 DVI's and an S-video. There's nothing wrong with a DVI-HDMI adapter. The only difference between DVI and HDMI is if you are running an HDTV the HDMI transfers sound, they both broadcast the same quality.

Like 87dtna said, just get a DVI-HDMI adapter, it will be the same quality, but the 9600gt or 9800gt will be more powerful than the 4650 or 4670
 
warning: stupid question:
is DVI the one with the + at the end? or the trapezoid shaped blue one? cus my monitor has only the trapezoid shaped one.

I know video cards, I've owned probably 2-3 dozen in the last 6 months.

Edit-Actually I just looked and my 4670 is a GDDR4 card, which is even better than the ddr3. Now I'd REALLY get the 9600gt.

9600gt and 4670 in real world games have very similar performance, but the 4670 generally pulls ahead at higher settings/resoloutions. The 9600gt at 1440x900 is probably the better purchase in this situation.

However, i would personally pickup one of these for <$100, generally beats the 9600gt and has DX11(yes, this card is somewhat of a lower powered DX 11 card, but DX11 puts alot more power into developers hands):

I could complain about the heat on my 9800gtx as well, at stock fan profiles(the arctic cooling based one is at a fixed speed IIRC). Just like alot of video cards, its the fan profiles that cause the heat to be higher, but set the fan up to manual control and you're temps will be better than the sapphire one.

??? No one complained about the sapphire being hot, thats my point! the HSF is just a better design apparently. You don't have to adjust fan speeds with the sapphire, and it's a smaller card as well.

Cards are both the same size other than the cooler extending ~3/4" off the back of the card, plus it exhausts its heat out the rear of the case.

Also, again, these are newegg reviewers. Reviews on newegg really shouldnt be used for comparison... HIS's support is just as good as that of sapphire, and the warranties on both cards are the same. With a simple fan adjustment(one time in rivatuner, set it to load at startup and you're fine, running cooler, and saving money due to the card being cheaper).
