ATI Radeon HD4870 on intel board ?

Would the ati radeon HD4870 work on my intel DP34DP motherboard?
Everything in my system accepts the GPU but not sure about the motherboard..
Core 2 Quad Q6600
4GB RAM
GeForce 9600 GT 1 GB
Intel DP34DP
SATA 250GB+250GB HDD
Vista Home Premium 32-bit.

Yes it has a PCIe X16 slot. Just make sure your Power Supply can power it.

You'd be surprised. If its one of the junky ones that suppliers like Dell or HP provide, they tend to be quite worthless. If you're running a decent brand you're fine, but the 4870 is a fairly power heavy card. Its less about watts and more about amps.

Also be sure that your power supply has enough hook ups for it. Mine which is XFX brand 4870 Gddr5 graphics card has 2 pci-express power hook ups. Just a heads up.
