ATI TV Wonder

I want to get TV on my laptop, and I have Bell ExpressVu Satelite. If I buy this ATI TV Wonder USB 2.0 and plug it into a USB port, can I run a cable from the receiver to the USB box? If so, what do I use, a coax cable?

Thanks.

By the way, this is the back of the receiver I'd be using.

You may want to look into HDTV TV Tuners, since those are capable of higher resolutions. However for USB ones, there are some decent ones that arent HDTV ready, so the best thing is to look at the specs and make sure the resolution is pretty good (640x480 and lower is pretty low quality).

740x480 is the max resolution for basic TV, so 640x480 isn't THAT low :P

Yes, but when you use that resolution on a computer monitor, it looks much worse then it is :)

I may be thinking of the 480x320 resolution actually, since I think thats what my old TV card was capable of.

So, I read that using the S-Video cable gives you the best quality, and all I'm going to be doing is watching maybe a movie, sports or several tv series on my 14 or 15 inch laptop screen. Its not my default TV, I only use it in my bedroom when I'm going to bed.

Is the tuner I posted decent in your opinion for minimal usage?

Eww, I just looked at my laptop specs, it says its 1.1 USB. =/ Would the tuner still work? And if so, is it even worth it now?

If it's only 1.1, then it's probably limited to 320x240... I don't know the specs for that tuner right off, but it would work... Just low res...

Coax, RCA, or SVHS would all work pretty much the same. I doni't think you'd notice a huge difference regardless what output you used.
