ATI Video Problem, Help?

TexasDriver

I just bought a new Compaq Presario w/ integrated Radeon Express 200 256mb. I'm trying to install the ATI Wonder Pro Software (I have installed the pci video capture card) and during the first 30 sec. on installation the monitor cuts off (goes into sleep mode). Software will not install. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Just to first clearify, you do have an ATI wonder card, right? I don't mean to put you down, but just making sure you're not just using ATI drives because your main video card is ATI ;)

Otherwise, it sounds like some sort of hardware issue. Could you perhaps try some other PCI slot? Maybe download some newer drivers, assuming you're using ones from the CD.

I tried a different pci slot, still does the same thing. Tried downloading software from ATI, still does the same thing. About 30 sec. into the install the monitor goes into sleep mode. The computer picks up the capture card and says its working fine, but will not let me install the ATI Catalyst Software.

It works just fine in my 2 year old emachine. The emachine has a 17" crt monitor, the new compaq has a 17" lcd monitor, would that make a difference?
