Right now I am trying to get my DVI converted to VGA. I have a DVI 17-pin Male to HD15 VGA female which supports both digital and analog signals. When I plug it into the computer and leave my regular VGA unplugged I get a blank screen is something wrong? I have also tried using the DVI in Ubuntu 7.10 gusty and it doesn't show another monitor as being plugged in. Could I have gotten the wrong connector. I've seen DVI-I, DVI-D, and DVI-A and I don't even know which one I have. I'm not quite sure if it matters what converter you get. I have however seen converters with more than 17 pins on Newegg.

Like the one here:

Well I got ahold of a DVI to VGA like the one I had a link to and no matter what I don't get a signal. I'm starting to think there is a problem with my board (WHICH IS BRAND SPANKING NEW BY THE WAY!). I could just be really stupid though. Unfortunately I don't have any DVI monitors so I can't test to see if it broken.
I also forgot to mention that the integrated graphics has a both VGA and DVI connections. My goal is to get dual displays working under Ubuntu Gusty.
