I am having problems with my X1300 I had now (in other topic) and i can trade my X1300 in for a NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GS 256MB PCI-E if i pay an extra $15.. is it worth it?.. its the X1300 better?.. What ati cards compare to what Nvida cards.. thanks

I have an x1300 in my old cmputer and it worked alright and looked alright I could never go back though. What do you do the most of, games I would assume, it which case I like the x1K series but in your case you may not see a huge difference other than the fact that Nvidia doesn;t support HDL, I would just look at the number online and make a decision, or take the dive and se efor yourself. Could you trade back if you didn't like it?

I mostly play games and check my email.. watch movies.. stuff like that.. the games I play are not complete graphics hogs:

Nascar Racing 2003
Nascar thunder 2004
Nascar SimRacin 2005
GTR 2
Moto GP 3
Flatout 2
GT Legends
Live for Speed
Need for Speed Underground 2
Need for Speed Most Wanted
a Few more older games....

What do u mean the number online??

I would not be able to return the Nvidia.. I already for the X1300 from the person.. exchanged it cause i thought it was broke but it was not.. now i am exchanging this card.. lol. there gettin mad.. alot of money wasted on shipping

There is three types of X1300, X1300, X1300pro and X1300xt.

7300GS is better than X1300, but it is worser than X1300pro and X1300xt

X1300xt has the same exact spec as X1600pro, but X1300xt is newer.

ok.. thank you for that.. i knew about the x1300 and x1300 pro but not the other one.. i have the basic x1300 rigth now.. and im going to trade it for the nvidia if i cant get the ati to work on my system. would be a small upgrade then.. atleast its not worse .. are these 4 cards prety close even tho some are a little better?

i didnt really get a chance to use my x1300 seeing as it crashes when i play a game. but the x1300 and the nivida ia plenty card for the weak games i play right (list above).. I just want to be able to run 1280X1024 in every application and game.. otherwise when it switches res my projector looses signal for a second and it goes and looks for other signals in s-video, rca, card reader, component, and dvi.. it takes like 4 seconds to cycle the whole thing before it gets back to vga and displays again.. if i can keep everything at what my desktop is that would not happen.. would be nice to turn the granpics up a but on the newer games :-)

You will not be able to play most of the games you listed above at 1280X1024 with X1300 or 7300GS.

You need to get at least 7600GS, if not 7600GT, if you want to play at that resolution.

As far as Need for Speed Most Wanted, you will not be able to play it with either card at 1280x1024. Currently, if I run NFS:MW on my computer (with everything on max, even in the advanced settings) on 1280x1024 , I only get 20-24 frames per second unless I overclock my card. With that in mind, you will need at least a 7600GS to play NFS:MW at okay graphics detail on MW.

well...I cant get this X1300 to work.. and I dont really like ATI's control center. I prefer Nvidias alot and you dont need dot net framework for it. So I think im going to sell my projector.. pay off my $250 electric bill and get a decent Nvidia card.. I will cap the price to $200.. I only have one PCI-e slot so no dual card setups :-(

ATI Gave me a good deal on a X1650Pro 512mb with a trade for my X1300 256.. I paid for shipping and gave them $50.. Hope that one does not crash. What does the 1650 comare to with nvidia?..

Thanks

* Four pixel shader processors
* Two vertex shader processors

X1300 is a 4pixelpipeline card that presents Shader model 3.0. The X100's where are all Shader model 2.xx, but the X1300 is still a lower end gaming card.

But on the other hand, 7300GS is 2nd gen shader model 3.0 and has 8pixelpipelines but downside is they support Turbo cache and they use 64-bit depending on the brand of the video card.

7300GS has 4 pixel pipelines, not 8

7300GT has 8 pixel pipelines

I went with an ATI Radion X1650 Pro - 512MB Ram - Pci-E... I did that because I got a really good deal on a trade in for the X1300. this card is smoking the games I play.. Im gettin into Rainbow 6 Las Vegas prety hard.. and playing alot of NFS Carbon and Most wanted. I can crank everything in any game but I get down to 25 FPS in rainbow 6 with alot of smoke or other stuff on the screen.. so I turned blurr off (wich I dont like anyway) and the lowest it goes is 30.. wich looks smooth as butter to me.. so im happy with it for a few years.. or atleast until DirectX10 comes out.. lol..
