ATI X2900 -- More details

So they're finally getting my new card ready for me. It's about time. I've been about the 8600s and 8800s too long already! :P

Holy shit. That is a long board. No kidding. I would get one, but my PSU only gives barely double the watts that it requires on a good day. I probably need like 50 more amps to even look at one.

I doubt I am gonna buy ATI anymore. Their Controls for their cards are too sophisticated and separated. They sold out to AMD and now when you see an ATI card, AMD has to be their to comfort the ATI name. I have no problem with AMD(not a fan of them), it's just that ATI shouldn't suck up to them like they do and allow them to be in everyone of their corporate affairs.

I don't like the look of this card at all it's so think and creepy looking i defanitly like the look of the 8800 series better big and bold, but hey its not how they look its how they perform so when is this card suppose to come out anyways

With the copper heat tubes and large cpu cooler it does look like something out an old sci-fi tv series where someone pulls out a computer bank and sparks fly. Since it's 12" in length for one model they want to name that one "Big Foot"! :P

rofl its pretty ugly i hope that this isn't the final build of it

It's not a pretty sight but would give me an excuse to throw in the larger supply I have onhand that just sits around. But the overall length kind of sums up a good nickname for it.

Does it REALLY matter how pretty it is? I mean, you can put pink and purple glitter with neon pink colored chip in my computer, and I won't give a shit as long as it runs my games. It goes inside the computer for gods sake people! lol.

There's an obvious reason for the appearance anyways. It has two larger vpus then most cards out. The large fan plus the large copper tubed sink should be self explainatory. It's a monster like a "Big Foot"! :P Gee now it's time to swap the 480w supply for the 550w model. hhmmm...

You don't think they can really sell too many cards that will be too large to fit in a standard case do you? There will always someone that will buy a 12" card but... something like that would be for a real "custom" custom build gaming type show case rather then just a performer.

Now imagine getting 3 of those, 2 in crossfire and 1 for the future physics rendering ;) You'd need 810watts for the graphics cards alone!
