Well to me noise isnt an issue, although he might be different.

noise isn't an issue for me, seems like thats a good buy an it only requires 300 watt power supply. perfect because my gateway GT5032 only has 300 watt .and, can it outperform a 6800Gs

I have it and its a kick ass videocard. but it is pretty loud when the fan is on 100% kinda sounds like a hairdryer. but if its not at 100% its actually pretty quiet.

Yes, but you can get a 6800GS for $30 cheaper.

There is one downside of the x800/x850 series... it's that it doesnt support SM3. So if you run 3DMark06 you wont get an accurate score to compare with the nvidia 6xxx series or higher.

I belive the x850XT is better than the 6800GS. 16 pipelines vs. 12 pipelines. Also it has faster core/mem speed.

edit: I think the x850XT has a minimum recommended of 350watt psu.
