Attaching CPU Sensor - any pictures?

Best place to attach the cpu temp sensor? my display on my case is reading 37 deg for CPU, and 36 for system ... i think they are reading too close to eachother, because my software tools say my cpu is at about 49deg
 
1. What CPU do you have?
2. The sensor on the case will have a different reading to the BIOS temperature, the motherboard sensors are more effective (And better placed)
3. Best place to put it would be as close to the CPU as possible, but its never going to be 100% accuarate.
 
id say right in the heatsink, between the fins.... preferably right near where the clip holds the heatsink down, it pushes straight down on the processor. that'd probly be where the most heat is.
as helmie said, it won't be very accurate, depending on how well the heatsink is applied and such (bad thermal compound application = no heat getting to the sensor)

Putting it between the fins would yeild highly inaccurate results.
