Atx 20 Pin to 24 pin.

What motherboard is it? Depending on the board and what power is required you may be able to just use the 20 pin connection.
 
I would probably go ahead and get the 20 to 24 pin adapter and use it. I really don't think it matters what brand you get on the adapter though.
 
thanks for the info another question i seem to have come accross is that i need a 8 pin eatx 12v as well but most psu's, from what i'm reading, seem to have 4 pin, do i need a converter? or am i missing something.
There seems to be alot of info on EPS12V but not on the eatx 12v, is it the same thing?

or can i use a molex to 8 pin 12 v

the psu in i have is for socket 478 P4 so i dont know if it can work with the above or not, if not i will have to get a new psu.
hard to tell as i'm not in england atm

You would be better off in buying a new PSU, at least it should be suitable for your needs.
 
yes i know but that doesnt really help with my question as i'm on tight budget and most psu dont have this 8 pin connection, but i will keep looking
 
some boards as long as your not maxxing out everything, i dont think require the 8 pin....i am not sure if that quad core would be qualified as maxxing stuff out tho...
