Audacity

Alright, so I downloaded the new Audacity:

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

and installed it, had my guitar plugged in to the computer, but I couldn't get it to pick up any sound, I tried all of my line in's and mic plugs, but nothing, and the pedal was turned up...

Any ideas?

Did you set to the correct input channel? On Audacity and/or sound properties? Realize in sound proporties, you have output mode(if it's muted you won't hear anything) and record mode(if it's muted, you won't record anything) But you can have it where you don't hear anything but still record, or vise versa :P

go into sound settings in Control Panel and choose the line inputs until you get it... It took me a couple minutes to get my mic set up in XP :rolleyes:

I did take a look and fidle around and I think I tried every possible combination of settings... I'll give it another go though.

Make sure both Audicity AND XP is configured to the correct port for recording.

Edit -> Perferences in Audicity

Control Panel -> Sound and Audio Devices Properties -> Audio for XP

Good Luck
