audio hardware problem

alright so i was being cool and deleting old software off my hard drive and i accidently deleted what ever makes it possible to use my speakers on my laptop.

the question is what do i have to redownload or w/e to correct this problem?

What are your computer specifications? Is your sound integrated into the motherboard, or does it come from a sound card that plugs into the motherboard?
